Established in 2010, Thanh Niên security company has 15 years of experience in the security services activity, we has recruited many security: some security guards have worked their way up from entry-level positions to become regional commanders, and some have even become directors of security companies. However, there are also guard newcomers who couldn't last more than ten days due to the discipline required, which led them to give up.
Typically, job applicants for security positions assume that the job is simple—just get hired, put on the uniform, and that’s it. But is this really the case? Let’s find out...
THE SECURITY PROFESSION: SIMPLE, RIGHT...?
As a recruitment officer in the HR department, I have encountered many applicants with unreasonable work conditions. For example, some say: "I want to work as a security guard, but I need to leave early or arrive 15 minutes late to pick up and drop off my kids." Or: "I only want to work the night shift so I can rest or do less work.", others: Some new security recruits, after accepting the job and starting their night shifts, bring blankets, hammocks, and pillows to sleep—thinking that no one will check on them. In addition: after receiving their salary, they enjoy themselves so much that they lose track of time and miss the start of their next shift!
Most new security guards believe that just showing up is enough. However, when joining the security force, you are no longer working alone but as part of a team. Any mistake by one individual can affect the overall quality of security service for the entire team. Each person must fulfill their small duties to contribute to the collective success. A single error can negatively impact the entire group’s efforts.
Therefore, new security recruits should take note of the following points:
1. Not Understanding Job Responsibilities and Work Procedures:
Mistake: Failing to understand job responsibilities, shift handover procedures, security checks, or how to handle situations.
Solution: Read job instructions carefully as provided by the supervisor, review company regulations, learn from experienced colleagues, and take notes on important procedures.
2. Lack of Observation and Alertness:
Mistake: Being distracted on duty, neglecting to check people and vehicles entering or leaving, and overlooking suspicious signs.
Solution: Stay alert, remain focused, regularly observe surroundings, strictly follow security procedures, and avoid unnecessary socializing while on duty.
3. Unprofessional Interaction with Customers or Employees:
Mistake: Speaking impolitely, losing composure in stressful situations, or failing to acknowledge mistakes and instead blaming others.
Solution: Develop professional communication skills, practice handling difficult situations calmly and tactfully.
4. Not Following Company Regulations:
Mistake: Arriving late, leaving the post unattended, consuming alcohol before a shift, not wearing the proper uniform, or failing to carry essential security equipment.
Solution: Follow strict discipline, check attire and equipment before starting a shift, and never consume alcohol before going on duty.
This is just a part of the essential lessons for new security personnel. Stay disciplined, work responsibly, and contribute to a strong, professional security team!
